The Opportunity

Nestled in the heart of the New Forest, Woodlands Lodge Hotel is a charming 18th-century country house seeking a passionate, hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will have full creative input over our menus, focusing on seasonal ingredients and the incredible larder that the New Forest provides. You will be responsible for:

• Menu Development: Designing creative, cost-effective menus for our restaurant, bar, and private events.

• Team Leadership: Training, mentoring, and inspiring a small, dedicated kitchen brigade.

• Kitchen Management: Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards (HACCP/COSHH) and achieving target Gross Profit (GP).

• Consistency: Ensuring every plate that leaves the pass meets our high standards for flavor and presentation.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Currently a Sous Chef ready for their first step up, or an experienced Head Chef looking for a more "community-focused" pace.

• Passion: A genuine love for fresh, local produce and traditional British cuisine with a modern twist.

• Reliability: A calm head under pressure and a "lead-by-example" attitude.

• Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage stock and labor costs effectively.
