Creative cooking for a family with varied tastes
Private chef needed for a full time role: accommodation is included
Busy family of 5: 2 adults and 2 teenagers and 1 adult child who attends university and is home on occasion
Driver's license is helpful, but not required. If licensed, car provided for work.
Accommodation is one bedroom, private bathroom, and kitchen with a separate entrance/exit.
Kitchen to be shared with other staff members during the day
Chef
Duties:
To prepare meals and snacks as needed, school lunches 2 to 3 days/week for 2 kids as well as a lunch that can be prepped ahead of time and put in the fridge for the adults. Dinner is required daily.
Plan menus – the family enjoy eating healthily and varied cuisines
Looking for a chef who can be creative and takes pride in presentation as well as taste
Cater for occasional dinner parties and family gatherings
Grocery shopping looking for the best ingredients and trying to cook with what’s in season as much as possible
Create online orders and track what’s in the pantry and what needs to be restocked
Cleaning the kitchen and keeping it neat and tidy while working
Keeping kitchen organized and try and minimize wastage
Laying out table for meals and clean up afterwards
House Management
Oversee maintenance of kitchen appliances, accept deliveries as well as coordinate access for house maintenance people
Light housekeeping duties inline with the families needs
House should be kept in top shape with special care and an eye for perfection
Laundry of kitchen related items, cleaning of kitchen/dining area
Work with existing full time housekeeper, and help on unexpected days off (particularly laundry)
Additional
Travel with the family during school breaks as needed
Limited in nature, usually 3 to 4 weeks in the US in summer
May be other times when this is needed in Europe
Holidays to be taken largely during school break times
Family travel for 6 to 8 weeks/year usually
Hours are variable, depending on special dinners/parties
Days of work are 5 days/week, Mon-Fri or Tues-Sat
Schedule would be breakfast & lunch prep, break during the day and then dinner
Must be good with a little dog, occasional walks and light care
Responsible for home security when owners are away
