Join us at The Hawk Inn in Amport, where great food and heartfelt hospitality are at the centre of what we do. We’re looking for a passionate Sous Chef who loves a busy service, takes pride in every plate and enjoys helping a kitchen team shine.
You’ll work closely with our Head Chef to deliver consistently delicious food, develop junior chefs and keep the kitchen running smoothly. Whether you’re an experienced Sous Chef looking for a fresh challenge or a Junior Sous ready to step up, we’d love to hear from you.

Make your mark in our kitchen
As Sous Chef, you’ll help set the pace, support the team and bring out the best in every service.
You’ll:
Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Cook and present great food consistently, following our menus, recipes and standards.
Lead confident, organised services and keep the team working together.
Coach junior chefs, helping them develop their skills and take their next steps.
Support rotas and organise daily kitchen responsibilities.
Manage food ordering, stock control and storage, keeping quality high and waste low.
Maintain excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and health and safety standards.
Work closely with the wider pub team to give our guests a memorable experience.
What you’ll bring
At least one year’s experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef.
Strong cooking and presentation skills, with real pride in the food you serve.
The ability to lead, encourage and develop others.
Great communication and a calm, practical approach to busy services.
A commitment to a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen.
