Eat Ping is a ready meal production company, we bringing together Asian flavors, smart production, and a technology-first approach to build the future of healthy eating at scale.
We’re growing quickly currently producing 6,000 meals per week scaling to 10,000+ by the end of the year
We are not a traditional restaurant. This is work in a Central Production Unit
We are looking for 2 Junior Commis chefs on a part time basis, that can graduate into a full time role as demand ramps up, with one chef being a night shift worker
Working days are Wednesday, Thursday, to Friday. When the role converts to full time, an additional Monday and Tuesday working day will be required.
Responsibilities include
- Portion cooked components and finished dishes to spec, hitting target weights within tolerance on every unit
- Cook rice to spec in batch, measuring, timing, cooling, and holding correctly
- Prep dry and wet ingredients: washing, peeling, cutting to spec, weighing out spice mixes, marinades, sauce bases and pastes
- Assist the Head Chef and Deputy Head Chef in cooking dishes to recipe, following batch sheets and recipe cards exactly rather than by eye
- Work to the daily production plan and batch quantities issued by the kitchen, flagging early if a batch is going to run short or long
Food safety and compliance
- Follow all HACCP procedures: temperature checks on cooking, blast chilling and cold storage, and completing the paperwork at the time, not retrospectively
- Correct labelling, date coding and stock rotation (FIFO) on all prepped components and finished product
- Maintain allergen segregation and avoid cross-contamination across prep and cook stages
- Clean down station and equipment to schedule; contribute to daily and weekly deep clean rotas
A couple of other points worth noting:
- No weekend shifts, your weekends are yours
- Ratchet based compensation structure as demand increases: i.e. your salary will contractually increase based on the company's performance
- Night shift working required
- The salary range is based on a 5 day working week, we are looking for 3 days of work at present, so the salary will be pro-rated for that.
