About the role
Dewars Restaurant & Rooms is a 19-room boutique hotel offering luxury accommodation and dining in the village of Kirby Misperton.
Are you an ambitious Head Chef with a genuine passion for fresh, locally sourced Yorkshire produce? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity to lead and build the team as our Head Chef.
We are searching for an enthusiastic and passionate hands-on leader to take control of our kitchen, drive our food offering to the next level and deliver unforgettable experiences for our guests.
The Role:
- Design and evolve seasonal, high-quality menus utilising Yorkshire's fantastic local suppliers with the Hotel Manager & Senior Management.
- Team Leadership: Assist with recruiting your own team, train and inspire, whilst fostering a positive and high-performing working environment.
- Kitchen Management: Take full responsibility for food safety & hygiene, HACCP compliance, margin control and P&L
Key responsibilities:
- Ordering, preparation, cooking and presenting dishes to a high standard
- Provide a fast, efficient and high class service to customers
- Able to lead by example, to nurture and develop junior team members
- Clean down kitchens to ensure spotless working environments
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene, appropriate to food preparation and service
- Maintain our 5 Star Rating and ensure all Food Safety & Hygiene processes and procedures are followed and documented daily.
Candidate specification:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Senior Sous Chef, preferably within a fresh-food environment.
- Exceptional organisation, a calm demeanor under pressure and strict attention to food hygiene standards.
- A genuine love for seasonal cooking and a drive to build a stellar culinary reputation
- Confidence in communicating with others
- Professional, enthusiastic attitude
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Driving Licence and own transport is essential due to our rural location
Our chosen Candidate must be motivated, passionate and ready to work in a busy kitchen.
Salary: Competitive salary package with performance-based bonus. Negotiable dependent upon experience. Holiday Entitlement: 30 days.
Working hours up to 48 hours per week over 5 days with flexibility according to the needs of the business, including Weekends, Evenings, Bank Holidays and Christmas & New Year.
