About the role
We’re looking for a passionate and thoughtful Chef de Partie – Pastry to join our kitchen team as we prepare for an exciting new opening in Edinburgh Old Town.
We’re keen to welcome someone who takes pride in their craft, enjoys working with quality ingredients and genuinely cares about the food they create. You’ll take responsibility for the pastry section, helping us deliver delicious, beautifully presented desserts that complement our menu and give our guests something to remember.
You’ll work closely with the Head Chef and the Sous chef as well wider kitchen team, contributing ideas, supporting your colleagues and helping to create a positive, respectful working environment where everyone has the opportunity to learn and develop.
What you’ll be doing
- Taking ownership of the pastry section, maintaining high standards of preparation, presentation and consistency.
- Preparing and delivering desserts, pastries and other sweet elements in line with our menu and service standards.
- Working with seasonal ingredients and contributing ideas for new dishes and menu development.
- Keeping your section organised, well-prepared and ready for service.
- Managing stock, monitoring wastage and helping to maintain good food-cost control.
- Following food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures at all times.
- Supporting and sharing knowledge with junior team members, helping them build confidence and develop their skills.
- Working collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth, well-organised services.
What we’re looking for
- Experience working in a professional kitchen, with a genuine interest in pastry and desserts.
- A good understanding of pastry preparation, presentation and kitchen organisation.
- Pride in your work and a willingness to maintain consistently high standards.
- A calm, positive approach during busy services.
- Someone who communicates respectfully, supports their colleagues and enjoys being part of a team.
- A willingness to learn, share ideas and contribute to the development of a new kitchen.
